Dear Listers,

In the process of restoring a recently acquired historic site, we are
trying find the best way to remove, clean, and rewire several lighting
fixtures. Of greatest concern, are two large crystal chandeliers. They
are fragile, awkward, and not easy to get to.

Does anyone have advice on hiring someone to do this or (gulp) trying
to do it ourselves? I have found several companies specializing in
chandelier restoration, but unfortunately they are far enough away to
make it cost prohibitive. We are in Kansas.

I hesitate to let the contract electrician do the work and we really
don't want to have to tackle it ourselves.

Thanks for any help,
Sarah Miller
