Best not to get anyone's hopes up .. (not to mention fasle advertising on your part ..)

AND ON A SERIOUS NOTE -- regarding AOL and the vast majority of the big players ..
from what I've gleaned they don't do anything by way of scanning for virii, trojans,
worms, etc etc .. I've been told it's due to Constitutional concerns .. (to scan
email they process for you .. it has to be read .. (disregarding that the reading is
done through technology) .. and that presents an invasion of privacy issue.

Most ISPs won't tell you this unless you ask what their policy is .. the underlying
message is PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY .. each of us must be responsible for taking
neccessary precautions .. (1) get detox utilities, keep them updated with latest
filters, scan scan scan, set up firewalls, etc etc .. (2) admonistion used to be
"don't open an attachment unless you know who it's from .. now it's "don't open any
attachment .. or at least if you know who it's from .. AND you are expecting it

Every day the net is bombarded with dozens of new demons .. most are caught and
faught without causing widespread dismay .. some are true despairs .. if there is
any virtue in the SoBig .. mayby it will help prompt more to begin securing their
own area.
