Reine,
I worked in the Membership Department at the Memorial Art Gallery for a year
and we used Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge. The Gallery has approximately 8,000
members and has been using Raiser's Edge for the past 7 years and staff is
fairly pleased with the software. It is fairly user friendly and has many
report running capabilities. The software also has many capabilities for
facilitating accounting, maintaining biographical information and giving
history, and tracking special events attendance by member. Your annual
maintenance fee is based on the number of modules you use and can sometimes
be expensive. We pay about $7600 a year, but we have lots of modules. The
cost of attending a Raiser's Edge training seminar is also on the high side
---about $1100 for a 3-day session. The company does have a good support
department and fields customer questions by phone and by email. Check out
their website for more details http://blackbaud.com

Subject: Membership database?

Dear All:

Could anyone make recommendations (for or against) software for a new
membership database? We anticipate the total number of members will
ultimately be small, roughly 2,000 or so.

Any help you can give will be most appreciated!

All best--Reine Hauser
