Here is the info on that virus:

The CIH virus, also known as W95/CIH.1003 and W95/CIH.1019, has been known
to infect Windows 95 and Windows 98 systems, causing them to crash on April
26.
(Some variants of this virus can cause hard drive crashes on the 26th of
any month.)

This is a highly destructive virus which can overwrite most of the data on
a system's hard drive. Additionally, it will attempt to overwrite the BIOS
chip,
preventing the machine from booting.
