Being a technogeek, I'm a little biased towards the sciences in the "Top
Events that Shaped the 20th century".  I'd have to say:

- Ford's assembly line revolution - start of modern factories
- ENIAC (or whatever the 1st computer was) - start of the computer/info age
- The BOMB - start of the nuclear age
- Sputnik/Vanguard - start of the space age
- The end of disco (but it's making a comeback...aiee!!!)
