As an enculturative institution, our responsibility is to give insight to the public, and to stimulate the public to reflect when encountering art and music. The executive director will work with a professional staff, each member of which has a high level of expertise in his or her respective field.

We seek a person who:
•	has relevant higher education in the field of art, plus leadership experience from Norway and/or internationally
•	has understanding of, and experience with, artistic and administrative planning and budgetary management
•	has good, documented abilities for collaboration, plus the ability to inspire and motivate others
•	has the ability to complete projects
•	has a wide national – preferably also international – network within the professional fields of our museums
•	has experience in collaborating with public authorities
•	is comfortable with being a proactive, visible representative for the museum vis-à-vis its collaborative partners, the media and the public.

We can offer competitive conditions in an environment and city that is itself a cultural institution with a large, competent and culturally engaged public. Negotiated starting date.

Practical information about the position can be sought from current director Erlend G. Høyersten ((+47) 45426542) or board chairman Per-Kristian Foss ((+47) 48082610).
