In the mid-1980s, we were looking into alternatives to the old open coin
boxes in which our collection had been housed for years (acidic, plus bump
the tray, & they go everywhere). We got Mylar D "flips", 2 clear pouches
with openings folded to the inside, 1 pouch for the coin and 1 for a label.
They come in a variety of sizes. Supplier: TaylorMade company, P.O. Box
406, Lima, PA 19037. Tel 215/459-3099. Our last communication was 1991,
but I don't think they've gone out of existence. They also made pages for
stamps in blocks & coil strips, and for baseball cards, currency, etc., in
3, 4, & 7 mil Mylar. We're very happy with them.
Now, anyone have a source for acid-free lidded boxes for larger historic
dolls? I've got boxes for everything 16" and under, but the 18", 22", & up
to 39" ones are a problem. I've made my own out of acid-free board, but it
costs about $20 in board plus my labor for each box.

I've slowly been accumlating a collection of "smooshed" pennies from
different museums and was wondering if anyone has or knows where I can get
something to display them in. (They currently reside in my purse.) I'd like
something like a coin booklet that I can place them in to so you can see
both sides of the penny since some museums print both sides.
If nothing like this exists, I think it would be a great marketing product
for someone to develop.
