Colleagues' Day: Planning a New Museum Facility
Friday, May 21st 1999

The Flynt Center of Early New England Life is both a dream realized and a
plan fulfilled. It took over fifteen years of planning, a year of
construction and a year of installation, but The Flynt Center is now open.
Behind the scenes are new storage areas, workshops, a photography studio,
and offices for Curatorial and Academic staff. There are currently two
exhibitions on view, "Pursuing Refinement in Rural New England, 1750-1850"
and "The Museum's Attic: Collections Storage."

The staff of Historic Deerfield, Inc. is pleased to offer a free symposium
for museum colleagues. We will share both the joys and pitfalls of opening
a new museum facility.
