At our local natural history museum, the last naturalist is close to
retirement.

When he is gone, the place will be run by "suits", engaged in an endless
round of meetings about meetings.   If you ask why no museum (collections)
work is being done, the stock answer is "lack of financial resources".

One of the money-spinning ideas arising from the meetings involved
encouraging school group visits.   I heard one of these groups being told
that the holes (stomata) in plant leaves were there to let in the light.

Has anyone else noticed a similar trend ?
