I would love to hire you. I would love to hire you and I would love to pay
you $15 an hour. I would also like to have some health benefits and a raise,
after my two years here.

I would also like our board to start donating to the society. I would love
for our city to donate more money. I would like for people who visit the
museum to drop a couple quarters in the jar when they visit, and maybe buy
something at the gift shop. I would love people in the community to remember
us when they are making their charitable donations.

Museums and other non-profits operate by trickle-down. I feel confident that
museums value their staff, although you might not always see that evidenced
in the salaries. We need to work on getting the community and potential
funders to value the work that we do in order to offer the appropriate wages
to our employees and interns.

This could also very well start an entire thread on why we are all in our
jobs - and it's not because of the money - but I'll stop here.
