Depending on where they are coming from, we have typically offered a $500
honorarium plus a $0.28 per mile travel allowance which they can apply
towards shipping.  We give this to them in a lump sum.

Subject: Honoraria for Biennial artists


Beginning in 2004, our museum will host a biennial invitational of
contemporary art.  I'd like to hear from other curators who organize an
invitational (not a juried show) regarding whether they offer a modest
honorarium to the artists involved, to help cover materials and prep costs.
