Michael:

Ron hit the nail right on the head.

I would add be sure untrained volunteers or visitors do not have acess to or the ability to handle these types of artifacts. Purchase your own detetcion equipment, if possible, so you can monitor these items, and be prepared for individuals who do not think these types of artifacts pose any risk.

Other types of artifacts which are radioactive are certain metal alloys, such as Mag-thor, certain electrical breakers, certain camera lenses, and some plackards, buttons, and switches with exposed radium painted indicies or "cat's eyes."

I would be more than happy to talk with you directly as well, if you need more information.

Hope this helps.

Michael,
I'll give you the short answer and if you need more details, please contact me directly.

Storage - Ideally, physically separate from other collections, properly marked and in boxes and bags to contain any possibly loose materials.

Display - Only physically sound items on display, only when really necessary, displayed with sufficient distance between the artifact and the visitor so that physical contact is highly unlikely and the attenuation of the radioactivity over that distance reduces exposure to acceptable levels. Inside a case whenever possible.

Handling - Wear disposable surgical gloves and be aware of what else you're touching such as your face or hair.
