Oh goodness no. Never EVER do anything for free unless NO ONE on the
crew is getting paid (like a local cable TV spot). This includes
staff, reenactors, maintenance people who will clean-up after the
shoot, etc. etc. Movie companies will try and get as much as they can
for free. They're getting paid, you should too. Your state or local
film board should have information on what rates and terms other sites
are using so you have an idea of what the going rate is in your area.

Film crews are used to filming under adverse conditions and under
tight deadlines. They can be effectively reined in if you put your
foot down from the start. Be absolutely firm that your job is to
protect the historic property, not to make sure they make their
filming schedule.
