Research Librarian (Part-time)

Job Summary
The Park City Museum in Park City, Utah has an immediate opening for a Research Librarian.  The successful candidate will oversee the Hal Compton Research Library, work to develop collections of library material and instruct and assist researchers on the use of library facilities.

Specific Responsibilities:

RESEARCH/LIBRARY
•	Answer research requests via email, phone and in person.
•	Aid visiting researchers (primarily architectural, genealogical, and mining-related) in their quests.
•	Schedule, oversee, research, write and edit articles for the weekly “Way We Were” article in the Park Record newspaper.
•	Update library research materials, finding aids and instructional guides.
•	Fulfill photo reprints ordered by Museum patrons.
•	Manage newspaper digitization project, including grant applications.
•	Compile visitor numbers and information request statistics.
•	Assist the Curator of Collections with archival and photographic collections, as needed.

OTHER TASKS
•	Update website (Research webpage).
•	Oversee interns, when present.
•	Work with volunteers to complete various collections projects.
•	Help with front desk tasks as needed.
•	Assist with exhibits, special events, talks and tours as needed.
•	Administrative duties as needed.

Desired Qualifications:
•	Masters degree in Library Science, History, Museum Studies or related field preferred. 
•	2 - 3 years experience in museums, libraries or research preferred.
•	Tech savvy as relates to databases, websites, and computer updates.
•	Solid understanding of Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite and PastPerfect preferred.
•	Self-motivated with strong organizational, teamwork and interpersonal skills. Must work effectively with diverse groups to manage information requests.

Part-time position; may include some weekends, evenings, and special events. Salary commensurate with experience.
