The Tech Museum of Innovation
Full-Time Position Available
Exhibit Developer

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Exhibit Developer is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Vice
President, Exhibits.  The Exhibit Developer will have responsibility for
the development, evaluation, and modification of permanent exhibits, for
the lease and management of changing exhibits, and for other
exhibit-related functions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Refines and develops rationale and objectives for exhibits with other
museum staff.
* Develops new exhibit concepts, and brings to fruition existing exhibit
concepts.
* Researches exhibit content.
* Confirms accuracy of exhibits' science and technological content.
* Works closely as a team member with other exhibit developers, designers,
engineers, Gallery Operations staff, industry sponsors, advisory boards and
contractors in interpreting, visualizing, designing,
implementing, evaluating and refining exhibits.
* Manages and monitors schedules and budgets through design, fabrication
and installation.
* Manages leased/loaned exhibitions.
* Participates in developing and cultivating fundraising prospects.
* Develops close relationships with industry, in order to facilitate
in-kind donations of equipment, time and exhibits.
* Participates in the marketing and sale of exhibits.
* Ensures that contracts and schedules are adhered to.
* Identifies critical resources, cooperates in the resolution of problems,
and completes assigned projects in a manner consistent with project time,
cost and goals.
* Assists in the development of exhibit text.
* Documents the process of Exhibit Developer.
* Work as floor staff on assigned weekday, weekend day and holiday.


REQUIREMENTS:
* Degree in science, engineering, design, science education or related field.
* Exhibit development, product development, design project management or
related creative experience that involves working with designers, exhibit
developers, AV producers and industry.
* Strong oral communication, presentation, and visualizing skills
* Self-motivated, goal-oriented with a willingness to engage in
interdisciplinary thinking.
* Evidence of fundraising abilities.
* Team player and a good sense of humor.
* Demonstrated ability to exercise positive leadership, motivate, and
inspire a cooperative team effort.
* Experience with managing budgets.
