Collections Management Systems Administrator
 
 
        Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village seeks a system
administrator to oversee its collection information
management systems. Principal duties include direct oversight
and management of the ARGUS system, used for a wide range of
collection management activities and for providing on-site
computerized access to collection data and images;
exploration of the possibilities for integration of ARGUS and
MARC-based systems and for providing services to off-site
users. Responsibilities also include ARGUS system software
and hardware maintenance, staff training and long-range
system development.
 
        Requirements include a degree in information science
with museum collection management experience (preferred) or
a degree in history, American Culture or a related field and at
least three years experience using automated collection
management systems. Excellent computer skills and
understanding of automated library or collection management
systems is essential. The candidate must have excellent oral
and written communication skills and the ability to work well
in a team environment.
