The West Side Tri-Met in Portland, Oregon had shadow-images of the existing
landscape (existing at the time they built the light rail line, which wasn't
too long ago) printed very subtly on the clear glass shelters at some of
their stops. It was very effective--if you looked through the shelters you
got a transparent overlay of the way it used to look that didn't interfere
with the way it looks now. Perhaps you could use this technique on the
windows at your site.

If you need more information about the technique they used, contact Mary
Priester at Tri-Met.
