THE TECH MUSEUM OF INNOVATION
FULL-TIME POSITION AVAILABLE
Campaign & Research Assistant

The mission of The Tech Museum of Innovation is to serve as an educational
resource that engages people of all ages and backgrounds in exploring and
experiencing technologies affecting their lives, and to inspire young
people to become innovators in developing technologies of the future.

The Campaign & Research Assistant is a full-time, exempt position reporting
to the Campaign Director and Grants & Research Manager.  The Campaign &
Research Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support for
the Campaign Director and Grants & Research Manager, managing prospect and
donor information tracking systems, preparing reports and material for
solicitors, providing prospect research services for Development Department
staff, and keeping Tech staff and selected constituents informed about
Campaign progress.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Be knowledgeable of The Tech's mission, exhibits, programs and long-range
plans and stay current with the functioning of the entire institution.
* Provide administrative support for the Campaign Director and Grants &
Research Manager, including organizing and producing materials for
meetings, drafting correspondence, keeping accurate records, maintaining
files, assisting with proposal assembly, event staffing, scheduling,
handling telephone inquiries, etc.
* Research and identify appropriate funders for The Tech's capital
campaign, programs and general operating expenses. Work with Development
staff to determine priorities for research to ensure timely completion
before key deadlines. Ensure dissemination of information on prospect
potential among relevant Development staff.
* Maintain background information (in files and databases) on donors and
active prospects in a timely and orderly fashion.
* Track stock performance of companies and individuals associated with The
Tech.
* Analyze and provide reports on corporate success factors and patterns of
community involvement.
* Maintain an in-house research resource collection including:  foundation
and corporate giving guidelines and annual reports and appropriate print
directories and periodicals.  Maintain familiarity with resources available
at the local library, Nonprofit Development Center, and on the Internet.
* Produce descriptive material on Campaign for use in briefings and formal
solicitations.
* Manage production of fundraising update newsletter to donors and prospects.
* Suggest and develop concepts to enhance stewardship with all donors.
* Develop and maintain professional skills and relationships with peers.
* Work as Museum Manager or Assistant Museum Manager on assigned weekend
days and holiday.

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
* Excellent research, analytical, writing and communication skills.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
* Ability to work with highly confidential information in a fast-paced
environment.
* Three years development experience. Proven experience with prospect
research and familiarity with grant development and administration is
desirable.
* Ability to work independently and creatively while functioning as part of
the development and overall Museum team.
* Proficient word processing, database and Internet research skills
required.  Cross-platform computer experience (Windows, Macintosh, and DOS)
preferred.  Experience with Blackbaud's Raiser's Edge, FileMaker Pro, Word
and Excel is desirable.
* An interest in science, technology and education; experience or training
in related field desirable.
* Willingness to work on occasional weekend days and evenings.
* Bilingual is a plus.
