Chris - Microsoft Word will show you the Flesch-Kincaid grade level for
readability. To set up Word, go to file, options, proofing. Under
correcting spelling & grammar, make sure to check grammar and spelling.
Check the box for "show readability statistics." When you run your
spell-check, the Flesch-Kincaid will show in the final pop-up window. The
Flesch-Kincaid level is approximate, but it will let you know if you are in
the ball-park of what age-level you desire.

Subject: [MUSEUM-L] Label writing software

Hello,

An interesting question has come up that I wanted pose to the list. Is there
a software program that allows you to audit exhibit labels to make sure
these are targeted at the appropriate age group?

Thanks in advance for any information.
