I'd like to double-check with those of you who know best that what I've done to cover a fiberglass sculptural chair in our collection is conservationally sound.

First I draped a piece of glassine over it, then I made a fitted cover for it our of plastic sheeting. I cut a few slits in the plastic to allow air flow.

The purpose of the cover is to keep off dust (and to discourage maintenance people who occasionally come in to repair our climate control from using the chair to toss their jackets).

Overkill? Underkill? Wrong materials? HELP!

Thanks,

Astrida
