Curatorial Assistant
The Dallas Museum of Natural History Department of Paleontology currently
has a part-time position available for a Curatorial Assistant in the
Department of Paleontology. The position is for 30 hours per week. The
Department of Paleontology has an expanding collection of fossil plants,
invertebrates and vertebrates. The Museum collections contain fossils from
the Precambrian to the Quaternary.

The Curatorial Assistant reports to the Curator of Earth Sciences. Duties
include assisting in the coordination of activities for approximately 20
active volunteers, database management, monitoring the conservation
practices of the Museum, attending to specimen loans and collections
inquiries. In addition to the Curator of Earth Sciences, the individual
will also work with the Fossil Preparator and two additional part-time
employees in the department. A bachelor's degree in geology or biology
required, a master's degree preferred. Experience with museum collections
and collection management is highly desirable.
