Nordiska museet in Stockholm ( the National Swedish Museum of Cultural
History) has a very special children's gallery called LEKSTUGAN, where
children and adults can play together. Play and imagination are used as
pedagogical methods and everything is hands on.

Through a "Timetravel" your imagination takes you back to Swedish
countrylife about a hundred years ago and you can try to do what children
did at that time. The concept has just been "exported" to the Museum of
International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico as the children's part of
the exhibition Swedish Folk Art. In a replica of Nordiska museet's
farmhouse, US children can play that they are swedish children 1895.
