In response to your inquiries about GW:

1.  TUITION - student loans!  Also, some students have found
employment at GW and get tuition waived.  As for me, I also have a 1/2
tuition fellowship, but unfortunately only a few are given out each year
 by the department and typically only to second year students.

2.  ANTHRO./CERTIFICATES - NYU has a great program in which you can get
an MA in Anthro. while getting a Museum Studies certificate.  Good points
are that you don't necessarily have to go to NYU for the MA.  You can
attend a much more reasonable CUNY (City University of New York) while
attending NYU's certificate program conncurrently.  Other programs might
also be similar.

3.  FOOT IN THE DOOR - Since I'm still in the market for a permanent
position, I haven't figured the answer out to this one yet!  GW
connections have been useful though as far as contract jobs and paid
internships.  Also, there are alot of GW grads working in DC area museums
and are apt to hire other GW graduates.
