The Reedville Fishermen's Museum invites applications for
director of a marine-oriented museum in Reedville, VA.  The
museum focuses on both the technical and human asects of
commercial fishing, especially menhaden fishing in the Bay and
along the Atlantic coast.  JOB DUTIES: Responsible for
operation, administration and maintenance of the facility.
This includes planning of programs, supervising of exhibits,
generating revenue (gift shop, special events, fund raising,
etc.), maintaining community relations and directing the
efforts of volunteers.  EDUCATION: Master's degree in museum
studies with a maritime background or master's degree in
maritime field with museum experience.  AVAILABILITY: Closing
date of application, February 15, 1997.  Starting date, no
later than July 1, 1997.  SALARY: $30,000 including benefits.
