If I may add to the accumulating pile of two cents (which must be at around
$1 by now), there is also the question of attitude.  It sounds as if the
original poster was venting, but even so one has to remember that you are
posting to a list that is read by the very people who you might be asking to
hire you.  No one will say that there are not times in this profession when
you need to release a little steam, but this may well be the first
impression potential employers get of you (remember, your name is on the
post).

And I must agree with Ms. Macdonald.  Every day I am tempted by what lies on
the other side of the non-profit fence: more money, better benefits, a
possible parking space(!).  But, like most in this profession, I am guided
by a passion.  And the pursuit of that passion is what supercedes anything
else (except for maybe the parking space).
