Wasn't there a fictional (obviously) story in the 60s 0r 70s about an
archaeologist in the future finding a 20th century bathroom, interpreting it
as a throne room with a ritual place to wash, etc.? I think I remember
studying this in an archaeology class. Bill Maurer

This sounds a lot like the "Civilization of Lhuros" work by a member of the
Cornell Art Department faculty that showed in Albany and was probably a
travelling show, around 1975, -76 or so. Afraid I have forgotten the
artist's
name, but the work was stimulating, inventive, and fun.

Post-modernist-minded contemporary art historians might mark the exhibit as
an important point in late 20th century historicism. (Sorry for the
self-referential sentence.)
