          SOLINET, Inc., the Southeastern Library Network, is pleased to
          announce as part of our Summer 1999 preservation workshop schedule:

          **************DISASTER PREPAREDNESS AND RECOVERY*************
          Libraries and archives are vulnerable to a variety of disasters
          ranging from fires and flooding to roof leaks and mold outbreaks.
          Through lecture, group exercises and demonstrations, this one and a
          half-day workshop will provide the training necessary to plan,
          organize and execute a disaster plan and salvage operation. Winston
          Atkins, Preservation Librarian, North Carolina State University and
          Patricia Palmer, Head, Preservation Services, Virginia Commonwealth
          University are the instructors.

          This 1 & 1/2 day workshop is scheduled for Thursday - Friday,
          August 19-20, 1999 from 9am-4pm Day 1 and 9am-12pm Day 2 at
          Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, VA.

          Cost is $135 SOLINET members ($125 early bird, $160 late
          registration); $175 Non-SOLINET members and FEDLINK ($165 early
          bird, $200 late registration). Any institution within Virginia
          qualifies for the member rate.

          The registration fee of this workshop includes a box lunch.
