CURATOR-OBJECTIVE CURATOR OF COLLECTIONS & HISTORICAL RESEARCH CASSVILLE

State Historical Society of Wisconsin; Stonefield Historic Site. Start
between $27,628 - $32,048 annually, depending upon
qualifications; plus excellent benefits. This position is included in the
Education Bargaining Unit. A 12 month probationary
period is required.

JOB DUTIES: Primary responsibility for the development and collections
care, acquisition and records management, and of
over 70,000 objects for a major state historic site. This position also
recruits, trains and oversees limited term employees
(LTE's) and other permanent staff in implementing collections projects.
NOTE: The required knowledge, skills and abilities are
typically acquired through an advanced degree in Museum
Studies/Administration plus significant historic site/outdoor museum
experience. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Professional museum
registration and cataloging principals and
practices, professionally recognized collections care principles and
practices; American history; 19th Century material culture,
museum program management, oral, written, and interpersonal communications;
personnel supervision and management,
computer word processing and spread sheet applications and ability to
travel independently on and off the site. To request
