Greetings Listmembers,

The Archive where I work has a sizeable collection of framed prints and works
of art which are currently being stored in a haphazard and potentially
damaging manner. One of our priorities for this year is to find a relatively
low cost solution to this problem. Ideally we would like to purchase or make
some sort of vertical rack system to fit into our existing shelving (which
ranges from 23 to 44 1/2 inches high, but is adjustable within that range).
Previous efforts (in 1999) to find a company which manufactured something of
this sort were unsuccessful, and I thought that it would make sense to contact
people at other small museums to see how they have handled framed art storage.

Any thoughts, suggestions, or information on further people or lists to
contact would be most welcome.

I can be contacted off-list at [log in to unmask] with anything that would not be
of interest to other members of the list-serve.

Thanks,
Catherine Dean
