check out a little architecture handbook (paper, 6x9) from Starrhill Press, PO Box 32342, Washington, DC  20007 ph.202/686-6703.  That contains drawings, definitions  and different descriptions of styles with time periods, etc.  depending on kids' ages, you might want to include
this with class or for info.  also, the Ontario Hist. Soc, 5151 Yonge St., Willowdale, Ontario M2N5P5 has a publication "Discovering Your Community" that is for kids and contains a chapter on "structures".  it has activities, suggestions, etc. and might serve as a model for part of
your program.  hope this helps.
