We are a small (11,000 object permanent collection, 12 full-time staff)
"regional" museum whose board of trustees have decided to get a better
handle on what "regional" means. In the past, it has been translated by
staff as serving the five surrounding states in the upper midwest, as well
as representing art of the region in exhibits. Has anyone else defined
their museum as regional, and if so, what is meant by the term in your
institution? Reply off list or on and many thanks in advance. May your
good work continue.
