thanks to all who supplied the helpful info about spiral jetty - for
those who are not familiar with the piece, my understanding is that it is
a very large earthwork located in the great salt lake in utah, by salt
lake city, shaped in a spiral with a tail leading to the land.  it was
done by robert smithson in 1970.  hope this helps, and thanks again!
