with the list, that would be great. I am involved with a committee to
upgrade our Museums for diversity and disability-readiness, so I would like

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston has just received a grant from Very
Special Arts Massachusetts for developing materials that will assist
individuals who are blind or visually impaired to enjoy visits to the MFA
as independently as possible. We are trying to see what other
programs/materials are currently being used by other institutions.

Does your institution have self-guiding materials for visitors who are
visually impaired or blind?
If "no":
 Did you ever have such materials?
 If they were discontinued, what was the reason?

If "yes":
 How, (by whom, within which Department) were these created?
 How long have they been in use?
 Are they large type?   Braille?                Recorded?       Tactile?
 How are they made available to visitors? Information Center? Through
prior arrangements with the Education Department?
 Are they related to specific exhibitions or collections?
 Are they related to several collections through unifying themes?
 How do visitors find out about these materials:
 Mailings? As follow up to guided tours? Relationships with community
groups?
 Have you created way finding materials (maps, building models) to help
guide blind visitors?
