I think you may be aware now that, under financial constraints, there
is a trend in museums to use expert consultants instead of hiring staff.
They are temporary and require no benefits. This is particularly true
when special projects or some types of exhibitions are being planned.
 
My book, PLANNING MUSEUM CAREERS, deals with the trends in employment
in museums, and makes some predictions for the future. Sorry that it
