Dear Kristi,

You might find assistance with your fir tree section by contacting Mr. Fred
Peters, an artist who specializes in diorama pieces depicting fish and
their habitat. He has done numerous complex habitat dioramas (fishery
museums, for example) which I'm sure have featured trees of all sorts.
Fred's work can be seen at http://www.aabc.com/peters/peters.htm. Email

Some weeks back, I believe another member of this list made an inquiry
about diorama creations. I could not respond at the time, but will share
the information now, since we're back to the subject.

We have recently begun to attempt re-assembly of a team of superb diorama
creators who worked closely together several years ago, operating from a
facility in Los Angeles. In the past, their work was directed by a good
friend and associate, who specializes in restoration of murals and
iconography that have been earthquake damaged, primarily in California
churchs (busy is steady...if nothing else is).

This diorama team produces museum quality work, and they've done some
wonderful projects. One was an installation at the Fisher Mansion museum
in Detroit, another in Culver City. They were trained in a Bengali
technique for casting resin that is extremely lifelike, and is used
throughout temples in India. Their presentations are complete, and
include sequenced lighting, music, narration, moving figures, etc.

There is a video available showing their process, completed installation
scenes, etc., which we'll be happy to share. In return, we'll hope to
receive a barometer reading of current interest in this field, which will
help us to determine how best to re-organize the team.

Regards,

Susan Eshelman
