Dear Museum Listers,

Is there a mentoring/advising clearinghouse through AAM or another
professional organization? or does anyone have suggestions for locating
one?

I am a young museum professional, who, after a long and often
frustrating job search, has secured my first permanent position
(Yippee!) at a small Midwest house museum (do house museums come in
large? :-) ) As I settle in I am facing completely new issues not
covered in my education (historic preservation), internships or previous
job experience. Because some of my concerns are sensitive I'm not
comfortable posting them to the list and would prefer a one to one
conversation. I'm posting to the list because I would like to locate
someone from outside my immediate vicinity for added perspective. I
hope it's not too much to ask :)
Any help would be appreciated.
