Refering to you r question on trade silver... Where does it come from, ie
found and/or traded.  This could make a difference.  For other references on
trade silver see "The Covenant Chain" N.Jaye Fredrickson; "Silver in the Fur
Trade" Martha Wilson Hamilton (ignore the cover picture, it's realy a good
book).  Also you might want to look at archaeological site reports at
Michillimacinac, MI and in the states of WI, NY, OH for historic 18th
century tade posts or other site where silve is often foun.  Finally, silver
and glass beads and wampum were often strung on sinew, dogbane, or basswood
two ply twine.  In a modern exhibit setting this can be replicated using two
ply UNBLEACHED linen cords or carpet threads.   >
