Dear Joshua,

I am sorry to say that I can't help you with the graffiti. But I am curious about your bell, since I'm writing my dissertation on the use of bells to communicate - antebellum period only, and only in certain venues, or else I'd never finish. Can you tell me a bit more about this bell? Excuse my taking a ride on your inquiry,

Hillary Murtha
