Subject: RE: marking techniques

Expert?? haha. Actually, I hope too many people out there don't think I
researched this topic. I strictly took what was found on the topic of "whiteout"
from the museum-l archives. The project was an exercise in creating an index.
Although the index looks to cover many interesting topics, the text does not
really give conclusive evidense of the best marking method, nor does it give
instructions, recipes, etc. for marking objects. Rather, it is a document
about the discussion of marking objects, some of the material/methods used, and
issues to consider. Thats all. I still think it is valuable though, especially
in that is raises questions about standards, and what other people in the
profession are doing out there.
Take care
Allison
