John,

Our building originally had UV film applied to the windows. Though the
manufacturers promise 10-15yrs of filtering capacity, the average
effectiveness is more like 8yrs, with a degraded capability after that.
We looked into replacing film on our long wall of windows. The cost and
short term fix turned us to shades instead.
We opted for roller blinds which have a slight degree of transparency
(so we can barely see outside). Electronically controlled shades are
very nice, but didn't suit the constraints of our installation.

Film is nice if your can afford to replace it regularly.

Subject: UV Window Film

Have any of you used a UV film application/sheets that is applied to
windows to keep out UV glare/rays? We need a lighter almost clear film
that will not block the view into the building. Any suggestions on this
matter is appreciated. Thanks in advance!
