CURATOR POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

The Museum of the Waxhaws, a small but growing regional history museum
and memorial to Andrew Jackson (located south of Charlotte), seeks
energetic, responsible, and self-motivated curator for position
opening May 2000.  Individual will be responsible, in consultation
with director, for development of exhibits, collection management and
research, development of tours and living history program, supervision
of volunteers, and daily operation of museum.  B.A. in history, museum
studies, or related field required (M.A. desirable).  Computer
knowledge and effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork
skills also necessary.  Museum experience highly desirable.  Review
begins immediately and continues until filled.  Current salary of
$18,500 plus benefits.  Send letter, resume, and list of references
