The Devil in me is dying to play Advocate here.

What if it's not a perfect world? What if you are
like countless museums professionals who have to wear
multiple hats--do six jobs in order to get one
paycheck because there is only so much funding, and
one must be mistress to many but not enjoy the luxury
of working only on the discipline we have mastered?

Larger museums might not face those issues, but
clearly, the smaller ones do. It has been my
observation here on the list that many of you are very
educated but must be as jugglers, balancing countless
"not what I went to school for" tasks before each day
is done.

Which background will fit one cannot know front end.
Each job is rather like finding out what's behind Door
Number One. You may think you know what it is before
you open the door, but it's closer to Fibber McGee's
closet than you could ever have imagined in interview
phase.
