Tracy,
We do this using PastPerfect's Virtual Exhibit program, which takes images
and information from the database for the website. The stand alone terminal
is searchable and well used. You can view the online version at
www.wingluke.org Though there are few choices in the final product's design
you can select any or all of the database fields for inclusion in the
interface.

Subject: In-Gallery Collections Access

Are there any museums out there providing some access to collections via
an in-gallery computer terminal? We are wanting to provide our visitors
with such a terminal to view specific collections and some associated
object information.

If you have such a thing I would love to hear the details- what program do
you use? Was it something programmed in-house or with off-the-shelf
software?
How was it received by visitors? It is a stand-alone system, searchable,
linked to a larger collections database?

Thanks in advance!

Tracy
