Hello List Members:

Recently our University was in negotiations to accept an exciting sculpture
in our permanent collection....Goddess Mound. The work, when viewed from
outside, is a large green, grass mound with a glyphed portal on one side.
Once you pass through the portal, you realize you are inside a larger
female figure. The walls are red ochre and pictograms/glyphs cover the
inside. It is a strong work designed by Dr. Christina Biaggi, author of
Habitations of the Great Goddess. At the very end of our negotiations, it
was decided that we could not house the work on campus. We had to decline
the work, but I have assured the Sculpture Team that I would assist them in
finding some new site possibilities. The project has a $300,000 budget,
all paid by the sculptures patrons. There is even money for continuing
maintenance. This is a great opportunity for an organization to gain a
major work for its permanent collection at virtually no cost. If anyone on
the list is interested or can suggest any institutions that might be
interested, please reply...I would greatly appreciate it. We are not
extremely concerned with the scope of the home institution, but the project
might be of particular interest to Women's Museums, or Women's Studies
organizations. Thanks for any assistance.
