Tracie --

The Shedd did make some cuts from their husbandry staff.

Megan --

The cuts at The Shedd were foreseen, at least to some extent. There was a
hiring freeze in place, and a series of meetings over the summer where
managers discussed the situation. I was not present at any of these
meetings and do not know if staff cuts were specifically mentioned. I get
the impression from my friends at The Shedd that while staff was aware that
times were tough, the cuts --or at least their severity -- came as a bit of
a shock.

I'm very sorry to hear that the CSO is cutting your exhibit. It's one of
my favorite things about the organization!
