The list of UK military museums (Navy, Army, Marines, Air-force and
other collections of militaria in Britain) has been revised and
updated. It can be accessed by anonymous ftp or WWW as a large flat
file (not hypertext) of 113543 bytes and 3591 lines. Thanks to Dr
Glen Segell of the Department of War Studies, Kings College London,
it is now available at:

    ftp mailbase.ac.uk
    Name: anonymous
    Password: your_e-mail_address
    cd /pub/lists-f-j/history-sources/files
    get military-museums

(when downloading onto some terminals it may be necessary to use
file type binary, to ensure correct transfer, but in most cases
this is not necessary as the file is all 7-bit ASCII text)

As an alternative to ftp downloading, it is also accessible at URL:

    gopher://nisp.ncl.ac.uk/11/lists-f-j/history-sources/files

There is a complementary list of UK maritime museums in the same
directory. As both lists include the Naval, etc collections, there is
some overlap. Please report errors and omissions to me.
