compared to women?  Were the salaries paid to women directors equal to
the salaries earned by male directors?"

We didn't look at either question, because we were trying to get an
answer for a reporter on deadline.

FYI, several museum associations (AAM, ASTC, AASLH, AZA, AYM, and I hope
I didn't forget anybody) are working together to try to figure out what
kind of data can and should be collected on a cooperative, sustainable,
field-wide basis.  I don't know if they're looking at salary but would
be surprised if it hasn't come up.
