Have just seen you note on museum L; Am sending you some more information on
The West as America including a clipping from The Guardian Weekly 30 January
1991 which I happen to have in my files.

Also you may want to chase article by Alan Wallach, "The Battle over The
West as America" in Marcia Pointon (ed) "Art Apart: Art Institutions and
Ideology Across America" , Manchester University Press, 1994, pp 89 - 101.
