SALARIED INTERNSHIP IN MUSEUM EDUCATION

Attention Aspiring Museum Professionals!  Have you applied yet for this professional opportunity?

Reynolda House, Museum of American Art (www.reynoldahouse.org) has opened its search for an Education Assistant.  This full-time, paid internship runs September 2002 through August 2003 and offers a challenging opportunity to develop diverse professional skills as a member of a museum education team.  Duties include leading tours and hands-on art experiences for diverse audiences; assisting with the planning and implementation of public programs; and assisting with the recruitment and supervision of college interns and volunteers.  The Education Assistant will complete a research project and undertake special projects as needed.

Reynolda House, Museum of American Art is a mid-size art and historic house museum, located on the historic R.J. Reynolds estate.  Central to its educational programming is an emphasis on the interdisciplinary correlations between art, music, and literature.  Accredited by the American Association of Museums and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Reynolda House is an affiliate of Wake Forest University.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate will hold a B.A. in art history, visual art, American studies, or a related field; will have previous experiences as a museum intern and a strong interest in a museum education career; will possess excellent public communication skills and the ability to work independently on multiple, diverse tasks.

COMPENSATION:
$15,000 and health benefits
