Carrie,
Although I am not currently enrolled in the program, I am very familiar with the University of Oklahoma's Museum Studies Program (actually an option offered through the College of Liberal Studies Department--the terminal degree would be a Master of Liberal Studies). As for museum access, the University of Oklahoma has two outstanding University museums on campus-the Sam Noble Oklahoma Museum of Natural History ( http://www.snomnh.ou.edu/homepage/index.shtml) and the Fred Jones Jr. Museum of Art (http://www.ou.edu/fjjma/). In addition, the Bizzell Library, which is located on the University of Oklahoma campus (http://libraries.ou.edu/help/VTour/ ) has several collections housed within the library, including Native American art, Western History Collection and History of Science collection. Furthermore, the Jacobson House (http://www.jacobsonhouse.com/), also located on the campus of the University of Oklahoma has a nice collection of Native American Art. Finally, Norman is close to Oklahoma City (17 miles), so students that may want to actually live in Norman have access to other museums such as the Oklahoma City Museum of Art and the Cowboy Hall of Fame.

However, the University of Oklahoma's museum studie program is a 100% online program. Thus, you can take the program from virtually anywhere. If you have any more questions about the program, please contact:
Sue Schofield (405) 325-1252
or Elaine Bontempi (405) 325-1062

Hope this helps!
Sincerely,
elaine bontempi
